Responding to today's announcement of a proposed National Food Strategy, Matthew White chairman of The University Caterers Organisation (TUCO) says:

"TUCO whole heartedly welcomes today’s announcement and looks forward to engaging and participating on the future strategy of the nation's approach to food. This is an exciting and real opportunity to create a global template and we must ensure it is fit for the 21st century and beyond."

Henry Dimbleby - co-founder of restaurant chain Leon and of the Sustainable Restaurant Association - has been appointed by Environment Secretary Michael Gove to lead the first major review of the UK food system in nearly 75 years.  He will investigate the entire food system, from field to fork, and consider what changes are needed.
