A white-label delivery app is now available for TUCO members via technology company OrderPay.

OrderPay is the most flexible and feature-packed order and pay solution on the market, supporting over 2,500 pubs, restaurants, bars and universities across the UK. Their partner venues serve customers more efficiently, turn tables faster, and benefit from bigger baskets and 12x more tips for their staff. The partnership with TUCO will now enable them to roll out ordering services to rooms on campus, growing revenue for on-site caterers and empowering students to safely earn money as delivery staff.

How the delivery app works:

  1. The university selects which restaurants are available on the app to students; this could be on campus outlets, or local independent restaurants in the area (third parties).
  2. QR codes are placed in every room on campus, which are specific to that exact location. Students use the QR codes to order from the restaurants that have been selected by the university.
  3. Orders are delivered by a network of student riders, providing a safer option for those looking to pick up extra work but want to avoid delivering to neighbourhoods they are unfamiliar with.

The app also provides solutions for in-person dining or collection, such as order and pay now, ordering and paying later, and click and collect. Customers are also able to give tips on the app and split the bill with fellow diners. The service is also accessible via browser, therefore able to use without downloading the app.

Universities are able to white-label the model to display bespoke branding, and outlets are able to list themselves within the app to access additional functionality.

Key benefits to members:

  • Allows you to earn a percentage of every order via a profit-sharing scheme
  • Widens your customer base
  • Integrated with POS systems
  • Single ordering for multi-vendor sites
  • Clear allergen data displayed and able to be filtered
  • Easier to receive tips for hospitality staff
  • Opportunity for ‘trusted local operators’ to operate on campus for events with payment rails in place

The app was launched at the recent TUCO Winter Conference, held in December 2021. Below, you can watch the OrderPay presentation from the event: The Future of Food Ordering which covers how the app works and the benefits to both members and students.
