Food Waste Management Service Requirement and Scope

During market research TUCO verified a requirement for various food waste stream concepts to embrace innovation in food waste that works in conjunction with a general food waste collection from food waste recyclates. TUCO Member requirements vary in both resource and on-site space/sites. Some member sites are campus based others are city based, hence a need for separate Lots.

Lot 1: On-Site Food Waste Innovation. Suppliers provide an On-Site Food Waste Innovative Concept. The innovative On-site Food Waste Management concept should process and dispose of the food waste generated at the TUCO member site. The on-site food waste innovative concept will provide innovation to food waste being dealt with at the members’ site with only residue being collected from the concept. Lot 1 is designed for members who have got the resource to manage waste, have got the space required for food waste innovation or is campus based rather than city based.

Lot 2: Used Disposable Cup Collection Service. TUCO Ltd seek suppliers to provide a used disposable cup collection service that will process and dispose of used disposable cups generated at TUCO member sites. This is a standalone service thus collections must be separate to the food waste collection service.

Lot 3: Waste Coffee Grounds Collection Service. TUCO Ltd seek suppliers to provide a waste used coffee grounds collection and disposal service that will process and dispose of waste coffee grounds generated at TUCO member sites. This is a standalone service thus collections must be separate to the food waste collection service.

Lot 4: Off-Site Sustainable Food Waste Management Service. TUCO Ltd are seeking suppliers to provide a food waste collection and disposal service. The collection and disposal service should be cost effective and efficient to the Universities, Colleges and the wider Public Sector. The disposal of food waste must be carried out in a sustainable manner and diverted from Landfill. Lot 4 is designed for members who only require their food waste to be collected from bins/waste recyclates. This Lot is advertised for National coverage, however, regional suppliers can also apply.

Lot 5: Waste Oil Recycling Collection and Disposal Service. TUCO Ltd seek suppliers to provide a used waste oil recycling collection service that will process and dispose of waste oil generated at TUCO member sites. This is a standalone service thus collections must be separate to the food waste collection service.

Each collection service should be cost effective and efficient to the Universities, Colleges and the wider Public Sector in a sustainable manner and must be diverted from landfill. The DPS was advertised to provide national coverage, however, each Lot also consists of regional suppliers.
