TUCO can announce after almost 20 years at TUCO, Jane Eve will be retiring this month. Taking over the Head of Contracts role will be current Category Manager, Nicola Mellor.

Nicola, who has extensive experience operating in both the public and private sectors, started with TUCO in October 2013, but had been managing TUCO’s frameworks long before that. Back in the early days of TUCO – prior to the organisation merging with SNUPI – procurement and finance were at that point outsourced to CEL, and it was around 2007 that Nicola first began working on frameworks.

Of the appointment, Nicola said:

"I would genuinely say the procurement team is like a family. Even though we’re all remote now we care a lot for each other both in and out of the work environment – and I think that’s quite unique. I’m looking forward to the new challenges that come with the head of contracts role."

Jane has been with TUCO since 2006, first starting as Category Manager and then Head of Contracts when the role was created in 2016. TUCO is extremely grateful for the time Jane has spent with TUCO and the many years of service she has given, she will be sorely missed. As she retires, she looks forward to spending more time with her daughter and grandsons, and doing some travelling. Jane will be attending summer conference at Loughborough, and is looking forward to catching up with the TUCO Family there.

Jane said:

"The time felt right to set the wheels in motion toward retirement — a decision that hasn’t come easily, as TUCO has been a truly exceptional place to work. I'm deeply grateful to Mike for the trust he placed in me to lead the Contracts Team, and to the wider TUCO community — colleagues, members, and suppliers — who have all been valued collaborators throughout my time here.

To the Contracts Team: it's been a pleasure working with such a dedicated and capable group of professionals. I'm confident the team will continue to go from strength to strength under Nicola’s leadership."
