Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out further competitions and local collaborative agreements, in consultation with Category Managers, on behalf of TUCO members, across all TUCO categories.
- Development of category strategies which maximise value for money
- Draft, Issue and evaluate tender documentation in line with current regulations.
- On-going pro-active stakeholder, supplier and market management.
- Appropriate engagement with customers – ensure timely responses to customer enquiries and provide specialist advice as required.
- Delivery of allocated individual targets for savings, contracted spend and savings validation.
- Develop high levels of category expertise.
- Monitor contract uptake and compliance and rectify issues quickly.
- Undertake benchmarking to prove Best Market Pricing.
- In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the post holder is required to perform other duties assigned by the Chief Executive or Head of Contracts consistent with the post.
About You:
· Must be prepared to work toward the attainment of CIPS level 4 qualification in Procurement and Supply.
· Proven experience of working in a procurement department/organisation.
· Procurement experience with responsibility for delivery of procurement benefits including financial savings.
· Knowledge of analytical tools and techniques.
· Experienced user of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Power Point.
. Ability to prioritise own work.
. Ability to build relationships within the supply chain.
. Good communication skills (written and oral) and capable of dealing with staff at all levels.
. Able to work as part of a team using practicality and innovation to resolve purchasing, procedural and processing problems.

· Experience of procurement of foodstuffs and related products.

Professional/Technical Qualifications
Must be prepared to work toward the attainment of CIPS level 4 qualification in Procurement and Supply.

It is essential that you are able to prioritise your own work and build relationships with the supply chain. The ability to manage stakeholders effectively is desirable.
Personal Qualities
Good communication skills (written and oral) are essential, together with being capable of dealing with staff at all levels. You must be able to work unsupervised and apply own initiative.

It is essential you are prepared to undertake travel around the UK and work flexible hours as required.
