Millside Fresh Produce was established in 2008. It was formerly the Catering Department of Barrowcliffe’s Ltd. but was bought by the existing owner and Managing Director Anthony Milward and is a stand-alone business with no parent company.
Since 2008 the company has gone from strength to strength. Focus and dedication to providing the freshest high-quality produce whilst consistently providing a professional service to meet the need of our customers has resulted in the acquisition and development of new business. We have grown to become a £4million turnover business that supplies an extensive range of wholesale and prepared fruit, vegetables, herbs, dairy, bakery and organic certified products to Universities, Schools, Councils, The NHS, large Food Manufacturers; independent, chain and online retailers to name but a few.
Our experience within this sector has enabled us to foster extremely close relationships with our growers and suppliers to ensure our competitiveness and quality in supply. Our company ethos being, ‘Quality is our Priority’.
Millside Fresh Produce are committed to consistently sourcing, processing, and marketing fresh produce of the highest quality and safety that our customers expect. The foundations are based on a technically led quality approach and the use of local suppliers where possible. Local produce sourced within a 50-mile radius of our site makes up nearly 50% of our produce offering. By adopting this approach, we have been able to help and support our awarded contracts with the development and maintenance of their Food for Life (served here) catering mark. Testament to this was being awarded Nottingham Trent University Supplier of the year 2017. We are currently certified to the STS Solutions Food Safety Quality Management standard and Soil Association Organic standards. We are audited on an annual basis by independent certification bodies such as NSF, by customers and our local EHO officer.
