Aviko has launched a new ‘Home Delivery Report 2020’. Based on a recent study, insights and industry trends, the report is the latest addition to the company’s ongoing commitment to help operators drive profitability through delivery and takeaway, in the wake of Covid-19.

Available to download for free at www.aviko.co.uk/news/home-delivery-report, the report highlights a number of ways operators can capitalise on the growing opportunity for delivery – which NPD Group predicts to be the only part of the UK eating out market to show year-on-year growth by February 2021*.

From working from home lunch offers, to end of week treats, and breakfast inspiration, the report offers up insights and suggestions to help drive profit throughout the day.

With 98% of consumers surveyed having ordered delivery or takeaway during lockdown**, the UK’s appetite for the convenience – and choice – that delivery offers, has never been so high.  Plus, with market research predicting it to continue to grow, it’s positive news for operators looking to profit! With the report revealing that on average, repeat customers spend +67% more than new ones**.

Along with valuable consumer insights, the report also dishes up top tips to maximise profitability. Including the benefits of cutting out the middleman and setting up direct online ordering – something 70% of customers say they’d prefer to do with their local restaurant.

Ensuring your food offer ‘delivers’ when it comes to quality is also critical to consumers (66%), along with food hygiene (69%) **. Which is why Aviko has developed a range of quality and tasty potato products, which hold up to the challenges of delivery and takeaway, as well as tapping into the big menu trends.
