The no.1 trend business leaders identify is the increasing use of internet/mobile technology/apps as a means to fast and convenient service. This is especially true for gen Z, where 55% report to use their phones for more than 5 hours a day and have made it integral to their daily lives.

This includes the likes of ordering and payment technologies, which have had growth expedited in the pandemic with COVID-conscious consumers seeking hygienic touchless solutions.

Interestingly and crucially in 3rd place the changing behaviour of younger consumers is a focus. Students are more tech-savvy than ever and are increasingly looking for highly personalised offers, demanding choice and convenience as one.
