Are you an aspiring young Chef aged between 18-23 with a love of Italian food? Do you think you have what it takes to make a great risotto?

The 2020 Young Risotto Chef competition, now in its third year and sponsored by Riso Gallo, is open for entries. The age band for entries has been reduced so YRCOTY 2020 will now be open to Young Chefs between the ages of 18-23; leveling the playing field a little for contestants. 

Also changed for this year, is the introduction of four regional finals - listed below. The top 2 from each will then compete in our Grand Final at Westminster Kingsway next January to win some fabulous prizes.

11.11 North of England - Middlesborough College
12.11 Scottish and NI - Braehead Foods, Kilmarnock
18.11 The Midlands - Loughborough College
22.11 The South - Milton Keynes College


A 3 day Stage with Jeff & Chris Galvin at La Chapelle in London


A 3 day Stage at the Italian Embassy in London working with renowned Executive Chef Danilo Cortellini.

Both prize winners will also visit the Riso Gallo rice mill in Italy, to understand more about how they produce rice and will have the opportunity to cook for the family whilst there.
